At Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids, we know that kids and parents want something different from their haircut experience. That’s why we provide it all: a superior haircut with warm, experienced stylists in a meticulously clean, fun-filled environment!
Children can sit in a Police Cruiser, Frozen Jeep, Fire Engine, Lightning McQueen Race Car or Spider-Man Super Car while watching their favorite cartoons on Disney+!
Older kids will love the chance to play XBox on 40″ screens while getting their haircut! Or just watch their favorite sporting events or music concerts on TV!
Tweenagers can also enjoy sitting in our private Tween-Lounge!
Cuts are done by warm, experienced stylists that can accommodate all children's needs. We also have special sensory tools available upon request.
Robert and Nadette always wanted to start a successful business that delivered a great experience and gave back to the community, so in 2019 they decided to join the Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids family. As parents themselves, they loved that Sharkey’s focuses on giving kids and parents a fun, memorable haircut experience at a great value.

Robert grew up in Brooklyn before moving to San Diego. He's a User Experience/Design executive with almost 35 years of experience at companies such as Intuit, Illumina and ComplianceMetrix. He also ran a local fan club of over 500 NY Jets fans in downtown San Diego.

Nadette grew up in Connecticut and lived in Hawaii before coming to San Diego. She’s a Nurse Informaticist with Kaiser Permanente and former faculty at UCSD’s Lactation Program. She’s been an RN for 25 years. She's also performed Hula, danced and taught salsa around the country.
Nadette and Robert have 2 children. Teah and Tiana. The family enjoys doing many things together, including boating on the lake, riding their ATVs/dirt bike and camping. They lived in Poway for 12 years. #almostlocals

When Linda and Scott Sharkey took their kids to get haircuts in those uninviting, unexciting salons, they always felt there should be something better.
So they set out to create a unique salon that caters to children of all ages. A place that is prompt for those on-the-go parents, fun and entertaining for their children, and reasonably priced for their wallets. Hence – Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids was born October 1, 2002.
The first salon was a huge success, and in 2004 they opened their second and third stores. The requests for franchises started to accelerate within months, and they then knew the business model was successful. In 2005 the first Sharkey’s franchise was sold in the US.
In just two short years 20 more salons opened across the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East with global commitments for over 200+ salons, making us the fastest growing children’s hair salon franchise according to Franchise Times 2008.
